I finally fucken read the scanlations of the chapter and imma be real with yall, Tabata fumbled this immensely.
Allow me to explain.
I completely agree with this, for me the last line in the chapter gives me hope we see our captain back in action. His backstory is the most interesting and maybe it’ll be explored more in the anime but we have to wait and see

BLACK CLOVER SPOILERS
My God, it was torture having to go to work and sit with my excitement for 8 hours and not be able to properly (coherently) react to one of the best chapters released! I'll try to break down why I'm super duper hyped about it:
1. Acier/Morgen
I predicted Morgen's return; there was no way that this character so closely related to devils wouldn't be resurrected, but Acier was a pleasant(?) surprise. I thought it would have been cool to see her paladinized, and well, what do you know!
Lucius is one nasty mf for reviving characters for maximum emotional damage. I respect it.
2. Jack the Ripper
Listen, I don't think Jack's going to die. Because this is Black Clover, and honestly, Tabata never needed to kill characters for shock value, and it's also just not that type of shounen. The biggest question is how Jack will survive, or if he becomes paladinized as well.
He's one of the most interesting characters in the verse. I hope we get a more fleshed out characterization of him— perhaps a flashback of young Jack?—maybe Yami's reaction that one of his good friends just became a donut...
It is also my headcanon that Jack is a YamiChar supporter (but mostly Charlotte, not Yami). Will I elaborate? Possibly.
3. YAMICHAR
GOOD GOD, IS OUR SHIP SAILING?!
Everyone on Twitter/Reddit seems to think it's a Death Flag, and in the name of Jesus and Tabata, I rebuke that evil spirit. Like, not to be dramatic, but I think I would break down if one of them dies.

I pushed it out so long too, I knew it was going to go that way, but hear me out…
We know that Jack has already adapted to gravity, magic and bone magic to the point where he is able to negate a ton of these magics. Rendering them completely useless, so from a strategy standpoint, it makes the most sense to take Jack out first. because if you take Jack out first, he won’t have the time to adapt, and modify to basically render the magics completely irrelevant. so from a strategic standpoint, it would make sense. but that doesn’t make what happened any less, disappointing. I do hope that they pulled what they did pull with every other magic knight captain, who had died and bring him back because Jack is freaking amazing and he doesn’t get nearly enough love

- Yami who’s partner is quiet in public but less so in private - and tiny in comparison
- Yami who is soft and sweet with his partner- even with the teasings (let’s be honest it’s insults) that he’d be a brute even with them
- Yami who’s partner gets a lot bolder during their relationship - so much Yami won’t disagree but he’ll be surprised
- Yami who is shameless about the markings he gives or is given
- I want to see Yami just being sweet with his partner and unabashedly happy with them
- Yami who loves when his partner wants to top/be in charge and let’s them- surprisingly it’s not because he wants to be lazy.
- Yami who just lets go when he’s around his partner and just lets himself be content with life
- Yami who could 100% rail his partner into tomorrow but doesn’t because he’s never been pushed to that point. Yami who loves taking his time is the best kind
